Tsukimachi Falls is a famous tourist spot in Daigo Town, a waterfall 17m high and 12m wide. It is also known as "Urami-no-Taki" (Waterfall to view from behind) or "Kuguri-Taki" (Passing-through Waterfall) because one can go behind the waterfall without getting wet. In winter, it can sometimes become an icefall. Normally, it appears as a twin "Meoto-daki" (married couple falls), but when the water volume increases, a smaller "Ko-daki" (child fall) appears, making it a "Oyako-daki" (parent-child falls). For this reason, it has long been a place for "Nijusan-ya-ko" (a religious gathering on the 23rd night of the lunar month) to pray for safe childbirth, child-rearing, and good fortune.
