Ichijoin Temple, located at the western foot of Mt. Tsukuba in Kamioshima, Tsukuba City, is a Shingon-shu Buzan-ha temple also known as Tsukuba's Fudo-sama. It is said to have been founded in 802 (Daido 2) in Mt. Tsukuba as a Hossō-shū temple. It is the 32nd sacred site of the 36 Fudō-son Pilgrimage in Northern Kanto, and the Raikei Fudō-son (Thunder Averting Fudo) is enshrined in the ancient Fudō-kaya tree on the temple grounds. There are numerous maple trees on the slope of the approach, making it a famous spot for autumn leaves at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba. There is a walking path planted with various wildflowers, making it a recommended temple spot in Tsukuba City.

Shozanji Temple, located in Kunimatsu, Tsukuba City, is a Sōtō Zen temple founded by Jōō Zenkyū. The "Amida Nyorai Standing Statue" is a designated cultural property of Tsukuba City. Fumonji Temple is a temple of the Shingon Buzan sect founded during the Genko era (1321-1324). It is an ancient temple that was once a prayer temple for the Oda clan of Hitachi and one of the four Hitachi temples, with 508 branch temples. Until the late Edo period, it served as a rural head temple, establishing a dojo and fostering many scholar-monks. Mount Tsukuba is clearly visible, and it is a recommended sightseeing spot for flower viewing with cherry blossoms along the approach, plum groves on the slopes, and hydrangeas in bloom. The temple grounds also feature a garden and are a famous spot for autumn foliage of maple trees. It houses the Nine-tiered Stone Pagoda (a monument to the Oda clan from the late Muromachi period), an Ibaraki Prefecture cultural property, and the Ryokai Mandala, a Tsukuba City designated cultural property.

Keiryuji Temple is a temple of the Shingon Buzan sect located in Izumi, Tsukuba City. It is said that Keiryu Shonin, the head priest of Kannonji Temple, received an oracle from Kosodate Shusse Kannon Bosatsu (Bodhisattva of Child Rearing and Success) and founded this temple in the 4th year of Genna (1618) to cure children's illnesses. It offers prayers for conception, safe childbirth, healthy growth, and warding off evil. There is a bell tower relocated from Tsukubasan Chuzenji Temple, which was in the current Tsukubasan Shrine precincts in the early Meiji period. It is a recommended temple spot in Tsukuba City.
The temple grounds also have two old weeping cherry blossom trees and several old Somei Yoshino cherry trees. Daffodils also bloom in spring. It is a famous spot for flower viewing in Tsukuba City.

Manisan Ryukufuji Ichijoin Temple, located in Anjiki, Tsukuba City, is a Shingon-shu Buzan-ha temple founded in Hōtoku 2 (1450). Its principal image is the Eleven-faced Kannon. The main hall, built in Genna 6 (1620), was destroyed by fire in Showa 11 (1936), but the bell tower gate, which is said to have protected the ancient weeping cherry tree existing on the temple grounds from the fire, remains today. The completely burned main hall was rebuilt in Heisei 22 (2010).

Senkoji Temple, located in Osonoe, Tsukuba City, is a Tendai-shu temple and the 73rd temple of the Kanto 91 Yakushi Pilgrimage. It is a temple with a long history, founded in Jōgan 4 (862) by Ennin Jikaku Daishi and rebuilt in its current location in Tenshō 14 (1586). Its principal image is the Senju Kannon Bodhisattva. Numerous cherry trees are planted on the temple grounds, making it a famous cherry blossom spot, offering beautiful scenery in spring.

Jofukuji Temple is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu Otani-ha sect located in Osone, Tsukuba City. It was founded in Kenpo 4 (1216) by **Inshinbo of Hatta**, the **18th of the Twenty-Four Disciples** and a **direct disciple of Shinran Shonin**. The temple moved to its current location in Tenbun 10 (1541). The main altar of the main hall houses the principal image of Amida Nyorai. A statue of Shinran Shonin is placed on the right side altar, and a seated statue of Inshinbo, the founder, is on the left side altar. The temple possesses numerous treasures, including the Juji Myogo (Ten-character name) said to be personally written by Shinran Shonin. Jofukuji Temple is a renowned temple of Jodo Shinshu in Tsukuba City and a recommended tourist spot.
*The Twenty-Four Disciples refer to the 24 prominent disciples of Shinran, the founder of Jodo Shinshu, during his time in the Kanto region, and also the temples founded by these disciples.

Kakuoji Temple is a Soto Zen temple located in Hanamuro, Tsukuba City. Hanamuro Kannon, which is also the name of a nearby bus stop, is located at Kakuoji Temple. It is said to have been founded as a Shingon sect temple during the Meitoku era (1390-1393). It was completely burned down by war, rebuilt and converted to the Soto Zen sect, but then remained uninhabited for about 100 years. It was re-established in Meireki 1 (1655) and continues to this day. Within the temple grounds are Garyubai (old plum trees), Mizuko Jizo Bosatsu (water-child Jizo Bodhisattva) statues, and Daruma Taishi (Bodhidharma) statues.

Otozan Shomyoin Ioji Temple is an independent temple located in Yatabe, Tsukuba City. Yakushido (Medicine Buddha Hall) was founded during the Daido era (806-809), but it has reached its current state after being burned down during medieval wars and deteriorating over time. The principal image, a statue of Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha), is said to be a work of Kobo Daishi. There are many cherry trees within the temple grounds, and together with the cherry trees in the adjacent Yatabe Multi-Purpose Plaza, it is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Tsukuba City. The temple also has a pond, over which a red arched bridge crosses to Benzaiten (a goddess), and numerous azaleas around the pond. On a hilltop, there is Atago Shrine, connected to the temple by stairs. Ioji Temple, known as Yakushi-sama, has been widely revered by local people as a deity of medicine, health, and eye protection since ancient times, and its Buddha's Birthday ceremony (Hanamatsuri) on April 4th of the lunar calendar is bustling with stalls and plant markets.

Hassaki Daishido is a Buddhist hall located on the shore of Ushiku Marsh in Hassaki, Tsukuba City, and is selected as one of the "100 Landscapes of Ibaraki". It is said that Kūkai (Kobo Daishi) performed a thousand Goma rituals here during the Daido era (806-810). It seems to be popular as "Pokkuri Daishi" for those who wish for a quick and peaceful passing. There is an observation deck from which you can overlook Ushiku Marsh. It is a recommended scenic spot in Tsukuba City with benches, also suitable for a date. Furthermore, mute swans are present in Ushiku Marsh, and you can see swans on the shores of Ushiku Marsh below Hassaki Daishido.
