On June 5, 2025, around 9:30 AM, we covered the blooming status of water lilies at Hanamuro Pond in Hanamuro, Tsukuba City. The water lilies are in full bloom.
They are expected to be visible until around the end of June, but it is recommended to visit on a sunny day between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM due to the way the flowers open.
Hanamuro Pond, also known as Ippaikan Pond, is an agricultural reservoir and a recommended spot for water lilies. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom around the pond.
The entrance to the pond is on the west side, and cars can be parked near the entrance. The pond is divided into a south side and a north side, but they are connected on the east side, forming a U-shape. This pond is managed alternately by the neighborhood associations of the Hanamuro district, and there are benches, flower planters, and flower beds. There is a pathway between the south and north sides of the pond, allowing you to go to the center. The water lilies on the south side of the pond can be seen from this pathway.

The water lilies on the north side of Hanamuro Pond were somewhat clustered until last year, but this year they seem to have spread out. However, the cattail spikes have already started to grow, making it difficult to see the flowers. Last year, the neighborhood association mentioned that the cattails would be removed in a few years.
