Autumn Leaves Status of Maples in Namiki Park, Tsukuba City on November 28, 2024
On the afternoon of November 28, 2024, we reported on the autumn leaves status of maples in Namiki Park, Tsukuba City. Namiki Park is an urban park located in Namiki, Tsukuba City, where deciduous oaks, zelkovas, maples, and other trees turn color. Especially spectacular are the maples around the pond in the northern part of the park, which are turning red. Autumn Leaves Status of Maples in Namiki Park
Namiki Park is an urban park located in Namiki, Tsukuba City. Photographed from the south side of the pond, the autumn leaves are currently at their peak. Autumn Leaves Status of Pond and Maples in Namiki Park

Autumn Leaves Status of Ginkgo and Sweetgum Trees in Akatsuka Park, Tsukuba City on November 28, 2024
On the afternoon of November 28, 2024, we reported on the autumn leaves status of ginkgo and sweetgum trees in Akatsuka Park, Tsukuba City. Autumn Leaves of Ginkgo and other trees on the promenade near the center of Akatsuka Park
The ginkgo trees in Akatsuka Park have finally turned yellow and are at their best. There are a few sweetgum trees on the right, but some are already past their prime. Click the image to view the VR scene.
Autumn Leaves of Metasequoia in Akatsuka Park
This is a view from the plaza near the center, looking towards the eastern parking lot, where several tall Metasequoia trees are located. The autumn leaves are currently at their peak. They are expected to be visible for about another week.
Autumn leaves at Akatsuka Park's Maple Hill

Akatsuka Park has a "Maple Hill" near the center, where about 20 maple trees are planted. As of November 28th, they are at their peak viewing. It's a bit touch-and-go for another week, but they will be fully visible on the 30th and 1st (Sunday). Clicking on the photo allows you to view past VR scenes of the maples.

This is the status of the ginkgo trees along Doho Park's promenade and the maple leaves in the water and greenery plaza. Both are at their peak and are expected to be visible for about another week.
Ginkgo Avenue at Doho Park Promenade
As of November 28th, the ginkgo trees at Expo Park are almost finished, but the ginkgo trees at Doho Park are just beginning to show their peak colors. This is a view of the autumn leaves looking east towards Doho Pond from the forest in the "Water and Greenery Plaza" within Doho Park, as of November 28th. The forest has some green parts, but it is mostly colored red and is at its best. Doho Park is the largest park in the Tsukuba Science City, and it has a running course including around Doho Pond. There are also maple spots along parts of the running course, which are mostly at their peak viewing.

Autumn leaves status of Matsushiro Park and Sweetgum trees (Route 408) in Tsukuba City as of November 28, 2024
Autumn Leaves of Maple and Metasequoia at Matsushiro Park
This is the autumn leaves landscape on the east side of the central pond in Matsushiro Park on November 28th. The maples and tall metasequoia trees are at their peak autumn colors. The ginkgo trees, however, have started to shed their leaves significantly and are nearing the end. Also, the sweetgum trees along the northern and western paths in Matsushiro Park have begun to shed quite a bit. Sweetgum Tree-lined Road (National Route 408) Autumn Leaves
National Route 408 runs along the west side of Matsushiro Park. A row of sweetgum trees stretches for about 7 km from in front of the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (Animal Husbandry Research Division) to the Matsushiro area. We reported on their peak viewing on November 17th. Since then, some leaves have fallen, but they are still visible for another 4-5 days.
On November 28, 2024, we surveyed four parks famous for autumn leaves in Tsukuba City's Research Park City: Namiki Park, Doho Park, Akatsuka Park, and Matsushiro Park. The main autumn leaves content in the four parks is as follows. Please note that the main sweetgum trees in Matsushiro Park are almost finished, so we surveyed the sweetgum tree-lined street along National Route 408 next to the park. Overall, the autumn leaves in the major parks within the Research Park City, except for sweetgum trees, are currently at their best and will remain so for about another week.
